Our journey begins with elder shaman; Don Augustin Grefa and his community of Naporunas as they lead us on a steep and challenging hike into the jungle opening us slowly to receive the magic of the forest and experience our elemental connection to nature and her cycles. The Lowland Quichua place great importance on the dream world and find the forest a mystical place with gateways into other worlds abounding we will learn some of their skills for working with dreamtime to learn the messages of our visions. Don Augustin Grefa is also renowned for his knowledge of all the healing medicines of the jungle. His first teacher was his grandmother whom had become his primary guardian up until he was forced into slavery within Peru. His escape found him as a young boy traveling the many tributaries of the Amazon to return to his homeland. The spirits of the forest taught him directly how to utilize her riches for his survival. He shares this powerful experience of his own in his work as a shaman and with outside communities to help us to bring about social and environmental balance, and to live in a more earth honoring way. Dolores Mannix is Founder of Earth Summit LLC , an organization that offers teachings and journeys to foster spiritual development, personal growth and wellness, working in community with others on this journey of the heart. Dolores has a background in interpreting, counseling and facilitating groups for 20 years. She has studied various cultural forms of shamanism over the years with many gifted Wisdom Keepers through her extensive travels to Ecuador and Peru, participation in ongoing apprenticeship programs and workshops, and through her role in organizing The Gathering of Wisdom Keepers at Omega Institute. She has trained extensively with Quechua Andean indigenous healers, don Esteban Tamayo & Jorge Tamayo and has been initiated into Birdpeople Yachak circle. In addition, she has studied with Peruvian master don Theo Paredes, author John Perkins, and world renowned herbalist, Rosemary Gladstar. Juan Gabriel Carrasco, Owner of Eco Trek Expeditions, Ecuador, is an adventure guide and spiritual trip facilitator with 20 years of experience guiding expeditions in his home land of Ecuador. Juan Gabriel is well versed in meeting the elements and adjusting to the environment whether it is on the side of a mountain or in the heart of the jungle leading a group on a deep transformational journey Juan has an intimate knowledge and deep relationship with the land and its people.
